Skal is a house in the middle of Beadnell village. From the outside it looks like a regular cottage, but inside it's quite big and modern.
It sleeps six people in three double bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is an ensuite off the main bedroom. That main bedroom has a door out to a small, private roof terrace. You can see a bit of the sea from there.
Downstairs, the living room has big glass doors that go into a sun room. That leads out to the back patio garden, which is enclosed. The garden gets the sun in the afternoon. There's a separate dining room and the kitchen has everything you'd need, including a dishwasher and washing machine.
Beadnell itself is quiet. There's a village shop and a couple of pubs that do food, all a few minutes' walk away. The beach is about a 20 minute walk. It's a sandy bay, good for watersports if that's your thing. It's very long, you can walk all the way to Seahouses along it.
Seahouses is two miles up the coast. That's where you get the boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the puffins and seals. There are more shops and cafes there. Bamburgh, with its huge castle, is another three miles on. You can see Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island from the beach on a clear day.
A bit further inland, about a 20 minute drive, Alnwick has a big castle and the Alnwick Garden with its treehouse restaurant.
The house has a 4 Star rating. It's well looked after. We allow one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included, and there's parking for one car on the drive. WiFi is there but it's village broadband, so it's fine for emails but not for streaming lots of films.
For planning, the Northumberland Coast National Landscape site has good information, and most of the big attractions like the castles are looked after by English Heritage or the National Trust.
