The Den is a two-bedroom place on a farm near Brownieside. It's a wooden cabin thing, detached, in its own fenced-off bit of a paddock. It sleeps four, one bathroom. It's got a deck with a table and chairs that looks out over fields towards the sea. It's quiet.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a kitchen area, a sofa, a smart TV. It has underfloor heating and a shower. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right next to it. We don't allow pets.
It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and maybe farm vehicles going about. The nearest shop is about four miles away in Embleton. The nearest pub is about six miles.
The coast is about four miles drive. Embleton Bay has a long sandy beach. Beadnell is good for windsurfing. You can walk from Craster past Dunstanburgh Castle to Low Newton-by-the-Sea. That's a good walk. Seahouses is further up the coast, about nine miles. You can get boat trips from there to the Farne Islands to see the seals and birds.
Bamburgh is about twelve miles north. The castle is big and you can't miss it. Holy Island is visible from there, but check the tide times before you drive over. Alnwick is about seven miles inland. It's a proper town with shops. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are worth a visit.
