The Old Workshop is in Rock, Northumberland. It's a detached cottage, but it was a workshop originally. It's all on one level now. You can park right outside.
It sleeps two people in one bedroom. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means everything is in good order. There's oak flooring throughout, so it feels solid.
The main room is open plan. Big French windows open onto the patio, which is sunny in the afternoon. There's a patch of culinary herbs at the front you can use if you're cooking.
The village is quiet. There's a walking trail that goes past the old church. For a shop or a main pub, you'd drive to Embleton, about three miles away. There's a pub in Rennington, about a mile, that you could walk to if you don't mind the road.
The beaches at Newton-by-the-Sea and Embleton are lovely. They're about five miles away. From Craster, you can walk along the coast to Dunstanburgh Castle. It's a good hike. Craster is famous for its kippers.
Alnwick is about five miles. The castle is there, and the big gardens with the treehouse. It has all the supermarkets you'd need.
North of here, Seahouses is the place to get boats out to the Farne Islands to see the seals and puffins. If you want proper hills, the Northumberland National Park is about half an hour inland.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
