Heckley Stable Cottage is a couple of miles outside Alnwick. It's a single-storey barn conversion in a field on a 14-acre estate. It's detached, so you've got the place to yourselves, and there's parking right there.
It sleeps four people. Two double bedrooms, both with their own en-suite bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is all on one level, and the doors are wide enough for a wheelchair.
The main living area has patio doors that open into an enclosed garden. There's a wood burner that's double-sided, so you can see it from the living area and the kitchen.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The nearest pub and shop are about a mile and a half away in the village. Alnwick is two miles away. It's a proper market town. The castle is worth a visit. The coast is about four miles east. There are some great beaches up there.
If you want to explore further, Rothbury and the Cheviot hills are about a 30-minute drive west. You can get to the Northumberland National Park, Bamburgh Castle, or even Berwick-upon-Tweed within about half an hour.
