Heckley Stable Cottage is a converted stable block on a big estate about two miles outside Alnwick. It's all on one floor, which makes it easy if you don't want stairs.
It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is pretty good. It's clean and comfortable. Because it's a barn conversion, the rooms are big and the ceilings are high. There's a wood burner in the living room. It's double-sided, so you can see it from the kitchen table too.
The garden is enclosed with a patio area. You can park right outside.
It's very peaceful here, but you're not far from things. There's a pub about a mile and a half away. Alnwick itself is two miles. You've got shops, cafes, and the castle there. Alnwick Castle is worth a visit. The coast is about four miles east. You can be on the beach at Alnmouth quite quickly.
For walking, you're close to the Northumberland Coast Path. Going inland, Rothbury and the Simonside Hills are about a twenty minute drive. If you want a big day out, Cragside is just over half an hour away.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and a cot and highchair if you need them. All bedding and towels are included. It's wheelchair accessible at the entrance and everything is on the ground floor. You can bring up to two dogs. There's also bike storage if you're bringing cycles.
If you've got a bigger group, you can rent the cottage next door as well.
