Up North
Up North is our place in Alnwick. It's a tall townhouse, just behind the main street. You can walk to everything from the door.
It sleeps six, across three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. One has a big spa bath, the other is an en-suite shower room. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's on three floors and the stairs are steep. They're original, so mind your head.
The kitchen has what you need, including a coffee machine. The living room is a good size with a sofa and TV. The dining table is big enough for everyone or for spreading out maps.
You're a two-minute walk from the market square. All the shops, pubs, and restaurants are right there. Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Garden are a short walk away. Barter Books, in the old station, is worth a look.
You can get a bus from the station nearby to the coast. Alnmouth beach is about ten minutes by car. Craster, for the kippers, and Bamburgh are within twenty minutes. The Northumberland Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Inland, you've got the Cheviot hills.
The facilities are all included: bedding, towels, wifi, washing machine, dishwasher. There's parking. No pets, sorry.
