Old Colliery Cottage is in Shilbottle, just outside the village itself. It's one of a group of three cottages built from the old colliery buildings. It's detached so you've got your own space.
The place sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom, all on the ground floor. No stairs at all. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up well, it's clean and comfortable. The bathroom has a freestanding bath.
The garden gets the sun and is fully enclosed, which is handy if you bring a dog. Speaking of, you can bring one pet.
You're well placed here. The coast at Alnmouth is about four miles east. Alnwick is four miles the other way. Both have a good few shops and places to eat. Alnwick Castle is there if that's your thing. The beach at Alnmouth is a big sandy bay.
Up the coast from there, you've got places like Seahouses for boat trips to the Farne Islands, and Bamburgh with its castle. All within a half hour drive.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a Smart TV, and bedding is included. There's a pub and a shop about a mile away in the village.
For planning, the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty website is useful, and the Northumberland National Park is to the west if you fancy heading inland.
