Chesterhill West Field is in Swarland, Northumberland. It's a converted barn. You get the garden to yourselves, and it's properly enclosed. The view from the garden is over open fields, and there are chickens and goats in a pen next door.
The place sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It has a 4 Star Gold rating, so everything is in good order. The main living area has high ceilings with wooden beams and big windows, so it’s light. There's a wood burner.
The stairs are metal and spiral, so you need to be careful on them. The turn at the top is quite tight. The en-suite shower room in the main bedroom is also on the small side.
Swarland is quiet. There isn't a shop or pub in the village itself. The nearest places for that are in Felton, about a mile and a half away. Alnwick is about a ten minute drive. That's where you'll find the big supermarket, Alnwick Castle, and the bookshop at Barter Books.
The coast is easy to get to. Alnmouth beach is 15 minutes by car. Craster and Howick are about 20 minutes. For a longer walk, you can get onto the Northumberland Coast Path.
Further afield, within about half an hour, you've got Warkworth and its castle, and Dunstanburgh Castle near Craster. The National Trust and English Heritage have a lot of sites around here if that's your thing: National Trust Northumbria and English Heritage.
For facilities, there's parking right outside, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a barbecue. We can provide a cot and a highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
