Wren Cottage
Wren Cottage is in Weldon, Northumberland. It's a converted stone farm building, so it's got that solid cottage feel. It's all on the ground floor.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's done to a good standard. We had it all refurbished in 2021. You can bring one dog.
The main thing is the river. You've got your own private access to the River Coquet. You can just go for a stroll by it, or fishing for salmon and trout can be arranged. The garden is landscaped and there's a patio area with a BBQ.
Inside, there's a living room and a kitchen-diner. They've both got these nice arched windows looking out over the grounds. It's got a washing machine, Wi-Fi, TV, parking right there. Bedding and towels are included. We put a welcome pack in for you with some local bits, milk, and treats for the dog.
The local pub and a restaurant are about three quarters of a mile away. The nearest shop is in Rothbury, which is two miles. The coast at Alnmouth is about twelve miles if you want a beach.
You're well placed for exploring. Rothbury and the Cragside estate are a short drive. The Northumberland coast, like Alnwick and its castle, is within half an hour. For a longer day out, the Northumberland National Park and Hadrian's Wall are under an hour away.
