Owl Cottage is at High Weldon, just outside the village of Weldon. It's a stone cottage at the end of a little group of four holiday places. The garden is yours to use and it's been landscaped, so it's neat, and it runs right down to the riverbank.
The cottage sleeps six, but it's in two bedrooms. They're on the ground floor, which is good if you don't want stairs. There are two bathrooms as well. One is quite big, with a roll-top bath and a separate shower. The other one is smaller, just a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You get private access to the River Coquet from the garden. Fishing for salmon and trout can sometimes be arranged for guests, but you'd need to ask about that well beforehand. The living room is a good size, with a dining table and some nice arched windows looking out.
In terms of practical stuff: there's a woodburning stove, a washing machine, parking, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The local pub and a restaurant are about three quarters of a mile away. The nearest shop is in Longhorsley, two miles down the road. Morpeth is about nine miles south for bigger shops.
The coast is about nine miles east. Druridge Bay is that way, with long sandy beaches. Inland, you're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park for walking. The coast path, castles like Alnwick and Warkworth, and the beaches are all within a half hour drive.
If you're coming with a bigger group, you can book Owl Cottage together with the other three cottages here.
