Oakwood Lodge is in Eshott on Hazon Park. That's a private site of about 40 acres. It's a detached lodge, one of many, but they're well spaced. You get your own decking area out the back with a hot tub.
It sleeps six people. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. The 4 Star rating means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's open plan downstairs.
There's a restaurant and cafe on the park itself. You can walk around the small lake. The site is quiet, good for families.
You're about halfway between Morpeth and Alnwick, just off the A1. Morpeth is ten minutes south, it's a proper market town with shops. Alnwick is about fifteen minutes north. Alnwick Castle is there, if you're interested in that.
The coast is twenty minutes east. You've got places like Warkworth with its castle, or Amble Harbour. A lot of clean, quiet beaches along there.
For a longer day out, you could drive to Northumberland National Park or Kielder Forest, both within an hour. National Trust North East has several properties nearby too, like Wallington.
Facilities: it's got parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. It's a good base.
