Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is in Acklington. It's a single-storey stone cottage attached to two others, Stable Cottage and Dove Cottage. They're on the edge of a small caravan site, but the garden area is yours.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. Everything's on the ground floor. There's a wood burner for winter.

The local pub is about a mile away. The shop is three miles. You're four miles from the coast at Druridge Bay. The beach there is good, long sandy stretches. Druridge Bay Country Park is about three miles away for walks.

Warkworth is close, maybe three miles. It's got a great castle and a nice high street with pubs. Amble is a bit further, a working harbour town with cafes. Alnwick Castle is about ten miles, if you're into that or Harry Potter.

You're near the A1, so it's easy to get around. Holy Island is about an hour's drive north, but check the tide times. Newcastle is maybe 40 minutes south. For a bigger day out, Kielder Water and Hadrian's Wall are both within an hour and a half.

Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, TV, and the bedding and towels are included. It says pets are allowed, up to two. There's a highchair if you need one.

Useful links: Northumberland Coast for the area, and National Trust North East for their properties like Lindisfarne Castle.
