Fulmar Retreat is a new-build house in Amble. It's on a small modern estate just off the A1, so it's easy to find but you can hear a bit of road noise from the garden.
The house sleeps five in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and everything is in good order. It's modern and clean.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for two cars right outside, and an electric car charging point.
The garden is enclosed, mostly gravel with a patio area and some seating. The kitchen has French doors that open out onto it.
It's about a 15 minute walk down to the harbour and the beach. The walk is flat. Amble harbour has some good fish and chips shops, a few restaurants, and little pop-up sheds selling local bits and pieces. The microbrewery is worth a visit.
Warkworth with its castle is a 10 minute drive away, or a nice 45 minute walk along the river path. Alnwick with its gardens is about 15 minutes by car. For a big beach day, Druridge Bay is 10 minutes south and Bamburgh is about half an hour north.
If you're into birds, Hauxley Nature Reserve is a couple of minutes down the road. There are several golf courses nearby too.
Inside, it's all been done recently. It's got a dishwasher, washing machine, fibre broadband and a Smart TV. All the bedding and towels are provided.
