Wheelhouse 21 is in Amble. It's a semi-detached house. You're really close to the sea here. The little beach with the pier and the beach huts is about a hundred yards from the front door.
The house sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was renovated a few years ago so it's in good shape. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The back patio area is enclosed and gets the sun.
The stairs are fine, typical for a house like this. There's on site parking.
Amble's a small fishing town. It's friendly. There's a shop very close by. A couple of pubs and restaurants are a few minutes' walk. They do good fish and chips here.
The harbour's working. You can get boat trips over to Coquet Island to see the birds. There's a market on Sundays.
For a day out, you can walk up the estuary to Warkworth. It's about two miles. The castle there dominates the village. Alnwick Castle and gardens are about ten miles away. That's the one used in the Harry Potter films. The Northumberland Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Holy Island is incredible but you must check the tide times for the causeway.
If you want to go further, Hadrian's Wall, Kielder or the cities like Newcastle, Durham and Edinburgh are all within a reasonable drive. Alnmouth station isn't far if you'd rather take the train.
In the house you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed. Sorry, no pets.
