High Haven

High Haven is on the main street in Amble. It's a terrace cottage. You're in the middle of things here. There's a small enclosed patio garden out the back with some furniture. It gets the sun in the afternoon.

The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up. The bathroom has a rain shower and a separate bath.

The stairs are steep. They're the original cottage stairs. Just take your time.

You're about 100 yards from the harbour. There's a shop, a few pubs, and places to eat that close by. The Sunday market is good for fresh fish and local bits. The beach is a short walk down the road, past the harbour. It's a small beach, more for a stroll than a full day out.

Warkworth is two miles south. You can walk there along the river path. The castle is the main thing to see. Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh are all within about a 30 minute drive north up the coast. Alnwick Castle and the gardens are about 15 minutes inland.

If you want to go further, Newcastle is under an hour by car. The train from Alnmouth station, about ten minutes away, goes to Newcastle, Edinburgh or York.

For facilities, you've got WiFi, a Smart TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed. They can't be left alone in the cottage, but the owners can arrange a dog sitter or walker if you ask in advance for a small charge.
