Red Hen Cottage
Red Hen Cottage is a stone-built cottage just outside Acklington. It's on one level, which is good. It sleeps eight, four bedrooms, two bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's not fancy, but it's comfortable and well looked after. The beds are good. There are TVs in all the rooms, big ones in the living room and kitchen.
There's a wood burner for cooler nights and a private hot tub outside. The main bathroom has a spa bath. The garden faces south.
Acklington itself is quiet. The nearest pub is about a mile and three quarters away. The shop is three miles. For a beach, you're about four miles from the coast at Amble.
Amble has a working harbour and a market. Warkworth, a few miles south, is a nice village with a castle and a few pubs. Alnwick Castle and Gardens is about eleven miles away, that's a good day out. Alnwick Castle.
Further up the coast, Craster is about 15 miles. Seahouses is 25 miles, that's where you get the boat trips to the Farne Islands to see the seabirds and seals. The Northumberland Coast Path is good for walking.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two dogs. There's a highchair if you need one.
