Harbour House is in Amble. It's a semi-detached cottage, a couple of minutes walk from the harbour. You can see the masts over the rooftops.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and practical, not a show home. The main bedroom is a decent size with a king bed and a TV. There's a small enclosed garden at the back.
You're right in the town. The shop is just down the road, literally 20 yards. There's a pub around the corner and a few places to eat on the harbour. One does very good ice cream. You can get boat trips from there out to Coquet Island to see the puffins.
The beach is a short walk, maybe five minutes. It's a sandy beach. For a longer walk, you can follow the coast path.
Warkworth is ten minutes drive south. The castle is impressive, it's up on the hill overlooking the river. Alnmouth is another ten minutes past that. It's a nice spot for a walk along the estuary.
Alnwick and its castle are about nine miles inland. The gardens are worth seeing. Up the coast, places like Craster, Bamburgh and Seahouses are all within half an hour's drive. Newcastle is about 50 minutes if you want a city day.
Facilities: there's parking for one car on the drive. The house has a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
