The Rose is in Hipsburn. It's a semi-detached house, not a thatched cottage or anything. You get three bedrooms and it sleeps five. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. We take up to two dogs.
The garden is private and enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs or kids. It gets the sun in the morning and evening. There's a separate games room at the bottom of the garden with a TV and an air hockey table. It's useful if the weather turns.
The train station is about a five minute walk away. You can get the train south to Newcastle or north to Edinburgh. Alnmouth village is about a mile down the road. The beach there is good, a long stretch of sand. All the local beaches are dog friendly. The village has a few pubs, shops and cafes.
Alnwick is a short drive away. Alnwick Castle is the main thing there, and Barter Books in the old station is worth a visit. For a bigger day out, Seahouses is about half an hour up the coast. You can get boat trips from there out to the Farne Islands to see the seals and puffins. The National Trust page for the Farne Islands has all the details on that.
In terms of facilities, you've got the basics covered: WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, on-site parking. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a highchair and a stairgate. There's a local pub within walking distance and a golf course nearby.
