Limpet Cottage is in Boulmer, pronounced Boomer, on the Northumberland coast. It's one of a small row of cottages right on the sea front. The view is straight out to sea from the living room and the patio.
It's a small place, sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's been assessed as clean and comfortable but not luxurious. It's all on one level, which is handy.
The village is quiet, very little traffic. There are fishermen here who still work from the shore. You can walk along the water's edge and watch them come in.
There's a pub in the village. Alnmouth is about a three mile walk along the beach from here. It's pretty, has some places to eat and a shop. Alnwick is six miles away. That's a proper town with everything you need: supermarkets, shops, places to eat. Alnwick Castle is there if you want to visit, and Barter Books is a very large secondhand bookshop. Worth knowing about.
There are two golf courses nearby, one is nine holes right next to the beach. The coast here is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are coastal paths for walking, and the cottage is on a National Cycle Route.
Facilities: It has a washing machine, a TV, on site parking, and bedding and towels are included. There's no garden as such, but you have the patio area. No pets allowed.
