The Alnwick Townhouse
This is The Alnwick Townhouse. It's in the middle of Alnwick town, just a few streets back from the main market place. It's a two-up-two-down sort of place, terraced. Sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up nicely inside, comfortable. There's an open fire in the living room for the evenings. Out the back is a small, enclosed yard. It's not big, but it's a spot to sit out with a drink.
You can walk to everything in Alnwick. The castle is about a ten minute walk. That's the one they used for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films. Alnwick Castle has its own website for tickets. Barter Books, the big secondhand bookshop in the old station, is even closer. The Alnwick Garden is about a fifteen minute walk the other way. It's got that big treehouse restaurant and the Poison Garden. Their site is here.
The coast is about a twenty minute drive. Alnmouth beach is the closest, then places like Craster and Bamburgh further up. For walking, the Northumberland Coast National Landscape pages are good. Inland, you've got the Cheviot hills about half an hour west.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for one car on the street outside. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
