The Lookout
The Lookout is in Boulmer, a small fishing village on the Northumberland coast. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. You're about two minutes from the beach, just a walk down the lane.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One's a wet room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was extended a few years back and they did a good job, it's all been kept smart and clean.
The main living space is a big glass extension at the back. It gets the sun and looks out over the enclosed garden to the fields. You can see the sunset from there. There's a woodburning stove for colder nights.
The local pub is a few hundred yards away. It serves food. The nearest shop is in Longhoughton, about two miles back towards Alnwick.
For the coast, you're right on it. You can walk for miles. Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle are a good walk south along the coast path. Alnwick is about six miles inland. You've got the castle and the gardens there.
Further afield, Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands are about half an hour's drive north. Holy Island is a bit further, but check the tide times. The Northumberland National Park is also within easy reach if you want proper hills.
Facilities: it's got parking, wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
