Lilac Cottage is in Dunstan, which is a small hamlet on the Northumberland coast. It's a white, end-of-terrace cottage from the 1700s, what they call a fisherman's cottage. Sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious.
The cottage is right next to The Cottage Inn. They do good food and have a big garden. There's a bus stop nearby if you need it.
You can walk to Dunstanburgh Castle from here, straight along the coast path. It's about a mile and a half. Embleton Bay is just past that, a nice big sandy beach. Craster village is a mile down the road, where they smoke the kippers.
The whole coastline here is protected. It's good for walking. You're about halfway along that big stretch between Alnwick and Bamburgh, so it's easy to get to either. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about a 15-minute drive inland. Bamburgh Castle is maybe 20 minutes north up the coast.
Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi, TV. We provide the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
