Alncroft

This is Alncroft. It's a stone cottage in Longhoughton village. The house was built in the 1840s. It's between Alnwick and Craster, about four miles from each.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a four star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped.

The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. We take up to two. There's parking on the drive.

Inside, there's a washing machine and a dishwasher. WiFi works fine. Bedding and towels are included. We've also got a cot and a highchair if you need them.

The local shop is a couple of minutes' walk. The closest pub is about a mile and a half away in Boulmer. There's a good sandy beach at Howdiemont Bay, less than a mile down the lane. It's quiet.

You're on the coast path here. Craster is famous for its kippers and the walk to Dunstanburgh Castle. Alnwick is four miles inland. You've got the castle and the gardens there. The castle was in the Harry Potter films. Further up the coast, Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island are within a half hour drive.
