The Gap is in Boulmer, on the Northumberland coast. It's a stone cottage, one of a terrace of three. You have your own front door and the whole place to yourselves.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms and the main bathroom are on the ground floor. The third bedroom is upstairs and has its own shower room. The stairs are open-tread and a bit steep, just so you know.
There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen has a dishwasher and slate floors. Upstairs, there's a second living area with a big window that looks out over fields towards the sea. The garden is a good size, mainly lawn, and there's space to store bikes.
Boulmer itself is a quiet fishing village. You can walk along the beach and see the boats coming in. The coastal path to Alnmouth is about three miles. Alnmouth has pubs, shops, a couple of golf courses, and tea rooms.
Alnwick is a short drive inland. Alnwick Garden is there, and Alnwick Castle. The castle was used in the Harry Potter films.
For wider walks, the Northumberland Coast National Landscape site is useful, and National Trust North East has info on lots of local places like Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle.
Facilities: parking for one car, an electric vehicle charger, WiFi, washing machine, towels and bedding included. You can bring up to two dogs. The pub in the village is about half a mile away.
