The Nook
The Nook is a terraced cottage on a quiet lane in Alnwick. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which is about right. It's comfortable and clean, not grand.
The main thing is it's quiet here, but you can walk into town in a few minutes. There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen is at the back.
The stairs are a typical cottage staircase. Steep in parts.
You're a short walk from Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden. Barter Books, the second-hand bookshop in the old station, is good for a rainy afternoon. Plenty of pubs and places to eat nearby.
If you drive half an hour, you can get to the coast. Beaches like Alnmouth and Bamburgh are out that way. Or go west to Cragside, which is a National Trust place with a big house and lots of woodland walks.
It has a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance is level, no step.
