The Physicians House is on Narrowgate in Alnwick. It's Georgian, part of the old Duke of Northumberland's estate before a doctor owned it. It's right in the middle of town, two minutes' walk from the market square.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well done and comfortable. The house is over four floors, so there are a lot of stairs. They're proper, broad Georgian stairs, but they're still stairs.
You've got Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden literally at the end of the street. The Castle's one of the big ones, and they do Harry Potter tours. The Garden has the Grand Cascade and the treehouse restaurant. Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Garden.
Inside, it's a mix of old furniture and new stuff. The kitchen is big enough for cooking for a crowd. There's a formal dining room with a large table. The main living room is cosy, with a TV. Downstairs in the lower ground floor there's a vaulted bar area with old stone walls. On the top floor there's a cinema room with sofas and an Xbox.
The bedrooms are all a good size. One super king, two kings, a double, and a room with bunk beds. The main bathroom has a roll-top bath and a separate shower. Towels and bedding are provided.
Outside there's a small courtyard with a table and a chimenea.
For the area, the coast at Alnmouth is about four miles east. It's a nice village with a big sandy beach. For walking, the Northumberland Coast Path is easily accessible. Further afield, you've got Northumberland National Park about half an hour west, and the castles at Warkworth and Dunstanburgh are within a twenty minute drive.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and bike storage. There's no dedicated parking, but on-street parking is usually available nearby. No pets.
