Fox House
Fox House is in Alnwick. It's a town house, so it's tall and thin. You're just outside the main bit of town, about a ten minute walk to the market square.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite upstairs. The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable. The stairs are typical for this sort of house, a bit steeper on the top flight. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine.
Out the back is a small patio with a table and chairs. You can park one car on the drive at the front.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
Alnwick itself is good for wandering. The castle is the main thing. It's a proper castle, they used it for Hogwarts in the films. The gardens are worth a visit too, they're big and have that treehouse restaurant. The Alnwick Castle website has all the details.
The coast is about ten minutes drive. Alnmouth has a nice beach. A bit further up, Seahouses is where you get the boats out to the Farne Islands for the birds and seals. Bamburgh Castle is along from there. It's all very straightforward to get to.
If you want hills, you can drive to Rothbury in about twenty minutes. It's at the foot of the Simonside Hills. Good for a walk.
