Number 1

Number 1 is a Georgian house in the middle of Alnwick. It's in a conservation area, so the street is cobbled and the look of it has to stay just so. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating.

The house is tall, as old houses are. The stairs are steep. There's a wood burner in the front room for cool evenings. The kitchen is through the back and has what you need. The separate dining room looks out onto a small enclosed garden. It's a private spot, but not huge.

You're right in the town. Shops, pubs, and cafes are a couple of minutes' walk away. The Alnwick Playhouse is there if you fancy a show. The famous Alnwick Castle is about a five minute walk. The Alnwick Garden is next to it, with the big treehouse and the water features.

You can drive to the coast in about ten minutes. Alnmouth has a good sandy beach and is four miles east. North up the coast, Seahouses is about a twenty minute drive. From there you can get boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the seals and puffins. Bamburgh Castle is a bit further on.

Inland, Rothbury and the Simonside Hills are about a twenty minute drive west. For a longer day out, the Northumberland National Park and the Cheviot hills are roughly half an hour away. The National Park website has good information on walking routes.

The house has parking for one car. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to two dogs. There's a highchair if you need one.
