Garden Cottage
Garden Cottage is on our farm in Edlingham. It's detached and all on one floor. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The cottage looks out over the fields. It's quiet. You're on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and sometimes hear a tractor. The garden is enclosed and it's just for you.
Inside, you've got everything you'd need. TV, wifi, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
Edlingham is a small hamlet. There's a medieval castle ruin here and an old church, just up the lane. They're worth a look. The nearest shop and pub are about five or six miles away, in either Rothbury or Alnwick.
Rothbury is about six miles to the west. It's a nice town on the River Coquet, good for walking. Cragside, the National Trust house, is only about four miles from here. That's well worth a visit.
Alnwick is six miles to the east. That's where the castle is, and the gardens with the big treehouse. It's got all the shops and places to eat.
You're in a good spot here. The coast, like Alnmouth or Craster, is about a half hour drive east. The Northumberland National Park and the Cheviot hills are about the same to the west. It's easy to get to either.
