Dinmont Cottage

Dinmont Cottage is in Shilbottle. It's a quiet village between Alnwick and Alnmouth. Both are about four miles away.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms, and has one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The kitchen and dining area are open plan, so it's a good space for everyone to be together.

You can bring one dog. There's parking on site, and an enclosed garden at the back.

In the village, there's a shop, a pharmacy, and a well-regarded Indian restaurant. The local pub is about 300 yards up the road. There's also a good café.

Alnwick is a few minutes' drive. The castle is famous, used in Harry Potter films. You can visit the castle and its gardens. The Treehouse Restaurant is there too.

The coast is about five miles east. Alnmouth has a beach and a nine-hole golf course right next to it. For an 18-hole course, Foxton Hall is nearby. Amble has a harbour with a Sunday market and boat trips to Coquet Island. Warkworth has its castle and a nice riverside walk.

You're well placed for walking. The Northumberland Coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Inland, you've got the Cheviot Hills. There's a bus route nearby, and you can pick up the cycle route from the village.

If you fancy a day trip by train, Alnmouth station has services to Edinburgh, Durham, or York.

Facilities at the cottage include a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are provided. We can also provide a cot and a highchair.
