Oake Cottage

Oake Cottage is in Warkworth, which is a small village just over the river from Amble. It's a stone cottage, second from the end of a short terrace. It's quiet and the back of the cottage looks directly onto the river Coquet.

It sleeps four people in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean. The wood burner works well.

The path along the riverbank starts right outside. You can walk into the village centre in about five minutes. There's a village shop and a post office. Two pubs do food and there are a couple of cafes. Warkworth Castle is at the top of the village and is worth a look. It's owned by English Heritage.

The beach is about a mile away. It's a big sandy beach that goes for miles up to Alnmouth. Amble harbour is about a ten minute walk over the bridge. You can get boat trips from there to go sea fishing or to see the puffins on Coquet Island.

Alnwick is a ten minute drive. The castle and gardens are the main thing there. The gardens are famous. For walking, the Northumberland Coast is right there. You can walk for hours. There's a golf course at Foxton Hall, just over a mile away.

What's here: WiFi, a TV, a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. Parking is on the street outside the cottage.
