Edwin Cottage

Edwin Cottage is in Amble. It's a stone house on a terraced street, a few minutes walk from the harbour.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom with a shower over the bath. One bedroom has a king size bed, the other has two singles. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well equipped.

You can bring one dog. The backyard is private, with a table and chairs.

Inside, there's a living room with a sofa and armchairs, a dining table for four, and a kitchen with a dishwasher and washer dryer. There's WiFi and Netflix if you want it. We provide bedding and towels. A travel cot and highchair are there if you need them.

Amble itself is good. The harbour's nice for a wander. There's a decent fish and chip shop, a few pubs, cafes, and a shop very close by. The Little Shore beach is a short walk. On Sundays there's a market.

You can walk to Warkworth along the river in about half an hour. The castle there is impressive. English Heritage: Warkworth Castle.

Close by, within a 30 minute drive, you've got a few options. Druridge Bay country park is great for a long beach walk. Hauxley Nature Reserve is just down the coast for birdwatching. Alnwick is about a 15 minute drive inland for the castle and its gardens. Druridge Bay Country Park. Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre.

Further afield, but still under an hour, you can get to some of the bigger beaches like Bamburgh, or into Newcastle.

The place is clean, warm, and has what you need. It's a good base.
