Clutter Cottage
Clutter Cottage is in Widdrington, about half a mile from the village. It's a modernised semi-detached cottage with two bedrooms. It's just off the main road, so you'll hear the odd car go past.
We sleep four here. Two bedrooms and one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was all redone a few years back so it's clean and warm. The kitchen's new and everything works. There's proper heating.
The best thing is the location. You can walk to Druridge Bay in about ten minutes. It's a huge sandy beach, really good for a long walk or a run. The dunes are right there. You're on the edge of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There's a small garden out the back with a table. Parking for one car on the drive.
Inside, you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included. We take one well-behaved dog.
The local shop is about a fifteen minute walk. There's a pub that does food about a mile away, and the Drift Cafe on the coast towards Cresswell is good for a coffee.
If you want to explore, you're in a good spot. Amble with its marina is about a twenty minute drive south. North up the coast, you've got Alnwick Castle and gardens, Bamburgh Castle, and Seahouses for boat trips to the Farne Islands. Holy Island is about forty minutes away, but check the tide times. Newcastle is just under an hour if you need a city.
