Abbey Cottage
Abbey Cottage is a detached house in Longhirst, Northumberland. It's on the same site as our other cottage, Ryandale, but you've got your own space and a private garden.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which is handy for a group that size. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything is included, like bedding and towels.
The house has a wood burning stove for cooler nights. The garden is enclosed, with a patio and a barbecue. There's parking right there.
Location wise, it's quiet but easy to get to the A1. The coast is about five miles away. Places like Druridge Bay have big beaches. Morpeth is three miles off, it's a nice market town with shops and places to eat. There's an 18-hole golf course just outside the village.
If you're looking for day trips, you're in a good spot. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about half an hour north. Similarly, you can get to the starts of the Northumberland Coast Path or up to Bamburgh Castle in that time. The Northumberland National Park is under half an hour west for proper walking.
