The Hidden Cottage

The Hidden Cottage is on a little square right off the main street in Morpeth. It's central, which means you can walk to pretty much everything in town.

It sleeps four people. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfy and clean, but it's not huge.

The main thing about the living room is the old kitchen range. It doesn't work anymore, but it's still there. There's an electric stove inside it that looks like a log burner. It gives off a nice glow.

Outside, there's a small garden at the back. It's south-facing and gets the sun. There's also a locked shed you can put bikes in.

Being in the middle of town is the big advantage. You're a minute's walk from the shops, restaurants, and pubs. The river Wansbeck and Carlisle Park are just down the road. The park is lovely, with gardens and a floral clock. Upstream there's a play park and sports fields.

For a bigger day out, the coast is about half an hour's drive. Places like Alnmouth, Bamburgh, and Seahouses have long sandy beaches. Holy Island is a bit further. Inland, you've got Rothbury and the Simonside Hills, or Alnwick with its castle and gardens.

Newcastle is about a 30 minute drive south if you fancy a city trip.

What's here: There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and the bedding and towels are included. The TV has satellite channels. Sorry, no pets.
