The Cockles is in Ulgham, which is a small village out in the fields. It's detached, on our smallholding. We've got horses in the paddock next door.
It sleeps two, in one bedroom with one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and clean, but don't expect anything fancy. It's open plan downstairs.
There's a big decked area that wraps around two sides. It catches the sun most of the day. The garden is yours to use.
You can bring one dog. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and parking right outside.
The shop and the nearest pub are in Ulgham village, about three miles away. Morpeth is a ten minute drive. It's a proper market town with shops, pubs, and a few places to eat. They have a market on Wednesdays.
For beaches, Druridge Bay is about fifteen minutes east by car. It's a long sandy beach. From there you can get onto the Northumberland Coast Path.
If you want to explore, Alnwick Castle is maybe half an hour north. Holy Island and Bamburgh are a bit further, maybe forty-five minutes. Newcastle is about twenty-five minutes south. For walks, you can get straight onto bridle paths from the gate here, or you can drive into Northumberland National Park or visit parts of Hadrian's Wall, which are both within an hour.
