Barkers

Ellington is handy for the coast. Druridge Bay is only a few minutes' drive away. It's a long, sandy beach that's really good for walks. Further up the coast you've got Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, and places like Craster for kippers.
If you want to head inland, Northumberland National Park isn't far. Hadrian's Wall is about an hour's drive for a day out.
In the village, there's a shop and the pub opposite. The pub serves food. That's about it here, which is the point really.
