High Trees Annex

High Trees Annex is here in Stobswood. It's an annex attached to our house, but you have your own front door and the place to yourselves. There's a private patio area to sit out.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It means it's comfortable and clean, but don't expect anything luxurious. It's a good, solid base.

The layout is all open plan. You come in into the living area with the kitchen at one end. The bedroom and bathroom are off that. There's a TV and WiFi. Washing machine, towels and bedding are all included. You can bring one dog.

You're about a ten minute drive from Druridge Bay. It's a great beach, all sand dunes and space. Good for a walk. Cresswell is just along from there. For a proper coastal walk, you can pick up the Northumberland Coast Path.

Amble is about fifteen minutes in the car. It's a proper little fishing port with a good market. Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is a bit closer. Both have beaches.

If you want castles, you're in the right place. Bamburgh Castle is about half an hour north. Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about twenty-five minutes inland. For something different, Cragside House is around half an hour west. It’s a National Trust place with amazing gardens and the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity. Here’s their site: National Trust Cragside.

Newcastle city centre is about thirty-five minutes by car if you fancy a day in town.

Locally, there's a shop and a takeaway a few minutes walk away. The nearest pub serving food is about a mile down the road. There's parking right outside the annex.
