Railway Cottage

Railway Cottage is in Togston, which is about two miles from Amble. It's attached to the house next door. We live on the other side. The cottage is on what used to be the railway line, but the trains stopped a long time ago. You can walk along the old trackbed.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's clean and comfortable but not luxury. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow. They're the original cottage stairs.

There's a small patio garden out the back with a table. You get the sun in the evening. The bathroom is upstairs and it's a good size. The double bedroom looks out over fields towards the coast. You can see the sea from the window.

Amble has shops, a couple of supermarkets, and places to eat. The harbour is nice for a wander. Warkworth is about ten minutes away by car, with the castle and a good beach. Alnwick with the castle and gardens is maybe twenty-five minutes.

For beaches, Druridge Bay is just down the road. It's a long, sandy stretch. Good for a walk or if you've got a dog. The Northumberland Coast National Landscape site has maps and information. National Trust looks after some bits nearby too, like Lindisfarne Castle which is about forty minutes up the coast.

Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a TV. You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding is included. We leave a welcome pack with basics.
