Hawthorne House is a detached house in Amble. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
The stairs are standard, nothing too steep. You get the garden to yourselves, it's enclosed. There's parking on the drive.
Inside, the rooms are a good size. The living room has one of those decorative flame effect fires. It doesn't give off heat, it's just for looks. The conservatory is a nice spot to sit. You'll find a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
It's about a fifteen minute walk into the centre of Amble. The town has shops, cafes, and a few pubs that do food. The harbour has fish restaurants and you can get boat trips from there. There's a small beach, and you can hire one of the beach huts. On a clear day you can see Warkworth Castle from the harbour. You can walk there along the main road, it's about a mile and a half.
The coast north of Amble is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are long sandy beaches and good walking. Alnwick Castle is about ten miles away. It's a full day out, and if you're interested, they used parts of it for the Harry Potter films. The train station at Alnmouth is a short drive away. From there you can get to Newcastle, Durham, or Edinburgh for a day trip.
