Number Sixteen is in Amble, about a hundred yards from the harbour. It's a terraced house that sleeps ten. It was fully renovated a few years ago so everything's in good order.
There are five bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. One bedroom is on the ground floor, which is handy. It has a king size bed that can be split into two singles if needed. Upstairs, there's a loft bedroom with skylight windows. You can see Dunstanburgh Castle from there.
The living area is comfortable, with a TV and some books and games. The kitchen has what you'd need. There's a dining room that fits everyone.
The house is right on the Coastal Cycle Route. You can store bikes in the enclosed yard at the back.
Amble's a working fishing harbour. It's quite lively. You can get boat trips from the harbour out to Coquet Island to see puffins and seals. The RSPB looks after the island. There's a small beach here with beach huts you can rent cheaply for the day.
Warkworth village, with its castle, is two miles away. Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Garden are about a twenty minute drive. For a longer day out, Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands are within half an hour. The whole coast north from here is protected as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Useful links for planning: Northumberland Coast AONB, National Trust Northumberland, and RSPB Coquet Island.
Facilities: everything is included. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, bedding and towels. There's a highchair if you need one. The garden is enclosed. We accept up to four well-behaved dogs.
