Teal House is on a small estate of houses on the edge of Amble. It’s a modern semi-detached house. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you’re bringing the dog.
Inside, it sleeps five in three bedrooms. There’s one bathroom. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean but not luxury. The layout is open plan downstairs.
You can walk into Amble in about 15 minutes. It’s a proper fishing town with a working harbour and a marina. There’s a small beach. The harbour has little pod shops and a good Sunday market. There are a couple of fish and chip shops and some restaurants. Boat trips go from there to Coquet Island to see the puffins and other seabirds.
Warkworth is two miles away. It’s a pretty village with a great castle you can see from the walk along the river. Good for a wander. Alnwick is about 14 miles. The castle and gardens are worth a visit. The treehouse restaurant there is something different.
The coast here is really unspoiled. You’re on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are great beaches and coastal paths everywhere. Druridge Bay is close and it’s a long, sandy beach that never feels crowded.
For facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There’s a washing machine, a cot, and a highchair. WiFi and a TV. Parking for one car on the drive. You can bring up to two dogs.
