Broughs House

Broughs House is in Broomhill, Northumberland. It’s a semi-detached cottage. Sleeps four in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star place, so it’s clean and functional, not luxurious.

You can bring one dog. There’s a garden, and parking right outside. Inside, there's a washing machine, a TV, and WiFi. We provide the bedding and towels. We’ve also got a cot and a highchair if you need them.

The local pub is about a five minute walk. There’s a shop just over a mile away. The coast is about two miles.

Amble is the nearest proper town, about three miles. It’s a fishing port with a small beach, some shops and places to eat. You can get boat trips from there to Coquet Island, which is an RSPB sanctuary.

Warkworth village is five miles away. It’s very pretty, with a big castle at the top of the street. Alnwick is about ten miles. The castle there is famous and has some big gardens. You can easily drive up the coast to Seahouses, Bamburgh, and out to Holy Island when the tide’s out.

For a longer drive, you can get to Hadrian’s Wall in under an hour. Alnmouth train station is a few miles away if you want a day trip to Newcastle, York, or Edinburgh.
