Barley Mill is one of two cottages on Peigh Hills Farm, near Earsdon. They're terraced together. The owner lives on the farm and trains horses, so you might see them around.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own en-suite shower rooms, which is useful. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The stairs are a standard flight.
The layout is straightforward: a living room and kitchen on the ground floor, and a conservatory at the back that you use as a dining room. It gets the sun.
You're in the countryside here, but the A1 is close by for getting about. The local pub is about a mile away. The nearest shop is in Morpeth, six miles south.
Druridge Bay and the nature reserve are about six miles east. It's a long beach, good for a walk. Morpeth is a proper market town and has a train station if you want to go to Newcastle or Edinburgh. Alnwick with the castle is about a 25 minute drive north. Rothbury and the Simonside Hills are maybe 20 minutes west.
There's parking right outside the cottage. All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a TV, and wi-fi. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the bedrooms are upstairs. Sorry, no pets.
