Cairnswood is a lodge in Felton. It's on a 40-acre country park site, off the A1. You get the feeling of being away from it all, but you're still close to the main road for getting about.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's a detached lodge, so no shared walls. There's a raised deck that goes around the side, with a hot tub. The front looks out onto some trees.
The site has a lake you can walk around. There's an on-site restaurant and café a short walk from the lodge. In the village of Felton itself, there's a good café and a pub that does food.
For things to do, the Northumberland Zoo is literally half a mile down the road. Burgham Park Golf Course is about the same distance. Alnwick is ten minutes in the car. You've got Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden there.
Morpeth is a fifteen-minute drive. It's a nice market town with some decent shops and places to eat. The coast at Alnmouth is about twenty minutes away.
You're well placed for bigger trips. You can be at Northumberland National Park in under an hour for walking. The same for Northumberland Coast beaches like Bamburgh. Hadrian's Wall is about an hour's drive. Newcastle city centre is forty minutes if you fancy that.
Inside, it's open plan. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. It has on-site parking. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
