Unwind @36
Unwind at 36 is one of two identical lodges, number 36 and 37. They're next to each other but detached. It's on Bockenfield Country Park, which is just off the A1 between Morpeth and Alnwick. It's a quiet spot.
The lodge sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so one bedroom has its own en-suite. It's got a 5 Star rating. Everything's clean and modern. It's open plan inside, so the kitchen, dining and living area is all one space. There's a TV and WiFi. The kitchen has what you need.
Outside, you've got a large deck with furniture. It overlooks a stream and fields. There's a sunken hot tub on the deck that's private to your lodge.
The country park isn't massive. There's a children's play area with a pirate ship and a zip wire. There's also a small clubhouse cafe that does drinks and snacks. Sometimes they run things like kids' cinema nights.
Location wise, you're about a 20 minute drive from the coast. Beaches like Alnmouth and Warkworth are quick to get to. Alnwick is about nine miles away for the castle and gardens. Morpeth is a smaller town a few miles south with shops and pubs.
For a day out, Hadrian's Wall is under an hour's drive. The Northumberland National Park is good for walking. The Northumberland Coast site has information on the beaches and castles.
Facilities included: all bedding and towels, a washing machine, parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs.
