Chesterhill Old Farm is in Swarland. It's a barn conversion we did up a while back.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so one's an en-suite. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean.
The main room is open plan with a wood burner. There are big windows looking out over the fields. You can see right across to Warkworth Castle on a clear day. The views are good.
There are hens and a few goats in the field next door. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside.
It's a quiet spot but only a mile from the A1, so getting around is easy. The village pub is about a ten minute walk. There's a golf course a mile away if that's your thing.
The coast is about twenty minutes by car. Alnmouth and Warkworth are nice. Warkworth has its castle and beach. Alnmouth has a long sandy beach and a few shops.
Further north, you've got Alnwick Castle and its gardens, which are worth a visit. Craster is about half an hour away for kippers and a walk to Dunstanburgh Castle.
For a proper day out, you can drive up to Bamburgh. The castle there is massive, right on the coast. Holy Island is a bit further, but you have to check the tide times.
Facilities: it's got the wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. We can take one well-behaved dog.
Useful links: Northumberland County Council Leisure and Northumberland National Park. The National Trust looks after a lot of the castles and coast up here too.
