Griffon Lodge is a modern, detached lodge on the edge of Eshott Country Park. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well equipped and comfortable.
The deck wraps around two sides and has a hot tub. There's some trees at the front, so it feels a bit private, but the on-site restaurant and cafe are only a short walk away.
The lodge is on a 40-acre site. There's a lake you can walk around. It's right next to the A1, so it's easy to get to, but it feels quiet once you're there.
Northumberland Zoo is half a mile away, basically on your doorstep. Burgham Park Golf Course is also about half a mile. The local pub in Felton does good food and is a few minutes' drive.
Alnwick is about a 15 minute drive. You've got Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden there. Morpeth is a 20 minute drive south, it's a nice market town with an indoor shopping arcade and places to eat by the river.
You're well placed for day trips. The coast at Alnmouth or Druridge Bay is within 30 minutes. Newcastle city centre is about half an hour south. Heading inland, you can get to parts of Hadrian's Wall or the Northumberland National Park, for the dark sky stuff, in around 45 minutes.
For facilities, it's got the usual: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, parking right outside. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. It says an electric vehicle charger is there too. You can bring up to three pets.
