Bumble Cottage

Bumble Cottage is in Newton on the Moor. It's a little place just off the A1, so it's easy to get to but you still feel tucked away. It's a two-bedroom cottage, sleeps four. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been refurbished but it's from the 19th century, so expect some of the usual cottage things.

The main thing in the kitchen is the gas Aga. It's in an old inglenook fireplace. It's on all year, so the place is always warm. That's really good in winter. There's a garden room with French doors that look south, so it gets the sun. You can sit in there with the doors open, or go out onto the patio.

There's a pub and restaurant about 200 yards up the road. It's well thought of. The nearest shop is about two and a half miles away in Longframlington, so you'll want to bring things with you.

You're about a seven mile drive from the coast at places like Alnmouth. Inland, you're right between the Cheviot Hills and the coast. For a big day out, Alnwick Castle and Garden is about a ten minute drive. The Northumberland National Park and Northumberland Coast sites are useful for planning. Kielder is about an hour's drive west if you want to see the dark skies. You can fish at Thornton Lake, they do day tickets. Horse riding is available locally too.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's bike storage. No pets, sorry.
