Oswin Cottge

Oswin Cottage is a tall, thin house on a terrace in Alnwick. It's Victorian, made from stone like most of them here. Two bedrooms upstairs, sleeps four. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean, warm, and dependable.

The living room is cosy. A step down takes you into the kitchen. There's an old Purvis & Co range cooker in there, which looks good and works fine. You've also got a small sun room at the back off the kitchen.

There's a useful enclosed patio garden. It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry. Parking is on-street, usually easy to find a spot right outside.

The town's everything is close. A shop about a hundred yards away. A good pub and a restaurant half a mile. Alnwick Castle is the big one, home to the Duke of Northumberland. It's a proper castle you can walk around. The Alnwick Garden is spectacular, especially the treehouse and the poison garden. It's a full day out.

The coast is about four miles east. That's a lovely stretch, part of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beaches like Alnmouth and Boulmer. To the west, you've got the Cheviot Hills if you want proper walking.

If you're planning trips, these sites are useful: for the castle and garden, check Alnwick Castle and The Alnwick Garden. For the coast and countryside, Northumberland National Park and Northumberland Coast.
