Folly Cottage Alnwick Northumberland
Folly Cottage is in Alnwick, just off the market square. It's a stone cottage for two people. It's one of two cottages together, but you'd have your own space. You can book it with the other one if you're in a bigger group.
Inside, it's all been done up. Downstairs is open plan: living room, kitchen, dining area. There's a wood burner, which is good for colder nights. Upstairs is the bedroom and a bathroom. It's a modern bathroom.
To get to it, you go through an arch off the square and up a little lane called Correction House Lane. It's quiet back there, even though you're right in the middle of town.
You've got a small enclosed patio garden out the back. It gets the sun in the afternoon. The lane itself is cobbled, so the ground is a bit uneven.
Everything you need is a few minutes' walk. Shops, cafes, pubs. The castle is about a five minute walk. It's a proper castle, not a ruin. They do tours. The Alnwick Garden is next to the castle, that's worth a visit.
The coast is about five miles away. Alnmouth beach is sandy and good for a walk. You can drive there in under fifteen minutes.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
