Folly Cottage Alnwick Northumberland
Folly Cottage is in Alnwick, right off the market square. It's one of a pair of cottages down a little lane. You go through an arch and up Correction House Lane.
It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs with a bathroom. Everything was redone a few years back, so it's in good order. It's quiet, even though you're in the middle of town.
You've got a small enclosed garden at the back. There's a woodburner, wifi, and a washing machine.
Everything is on your doorstep. The market square, pubs, shops, places to eat. You don't need to drive. Alnwick Castle is a five minute walk. Alnwick Castle is worth a visit. The gardens are too, if you like that sort of thing.
The coast is easy to get to. Alnmouth beach is about ten minutes in the car. Craster, for the kipper smokehouses and Dunstanburgh Castle, is about twenty minutes. Dunstanburgh Castle is a good walk from there.
For a longer drive, you can get to Bamburgh Castle or the Farne Islands boat trips from Seahouses in under half an hour. Farne Islands information is here.
